Jerry Deans
Jerry Deans retired in 2019 as Vice Chair of UsToo International’s Board, the largest US prostate cancer education and supportorganization. Jerry holds degrees in psychology and social work. He served in the Virginia Mental Health and Corrections system and retired as Assistant Commissioner.
Jerry is a man of great faith with the unique ability to imbue that in others, helping draw them from their own ‘wilderness’. Jerry and his wife Patsi have wandered through many of their own, losing a grandchild and a child with two others recovering from spinal cord injury and alcoholism. They teach their coping methods.
Jerry lives with metastatic prostate cancer, first diagnosed in 1999. Through all this, he radiates light, especially when in his beloved camper with Patsi and his dog Zoe visiting beauty spots. Jerry has guided AnCan for years. He is the author of “Lost But Not Forgotten”.
