Exercise & Wellness
Certain factors contributing to successful survival are beyond our control… others are not. Answer Cancer Foundation encourages all cancer survivors to promote those factors we can control where evidence shows benefit to survival… namely:
- exercise
- diet
- stress reduction
Exercise
Medafit , a sister effort, encourages people living with serious or chronic conditions to exercise to health.
Medafit connects the patient and their medical team to exercise programs through highly qualified exercise counselors embedded in the clinical setting. They will not train you, but empower you to participate in a suitable program.
When your doctor advises you to exercise, our goal is for you to comply! We do this by encouraging the doctor to write an exercise prescription to visit a highly qualified exercise counselor – just like you might be sent to a registered dietician
MedaFit has innovated a highly successful program at the University of California at San Francisco Cancer Center (UCSF) and seeks to create more programs in the future.
