Jim Schraidt

Prostate Cancer Moderator - AS & Low/Intermediate

Jim Schraidt is a  passionate advocate for better, less harmful prostate cancer treatment – especially through providing peer support.  He navigates new (& old!) prostate cancer patients supporting them throughout the diagnosis, treatment and recovery process with the best, most accurate information.

This passion comes from an ill-advised prostatectomy in 2010 at the age of 58 that caused profound treatment regret resulting in clinical depression. Attending a very helpful UsToo Chicago Support Group led to Jim’s involvement with UsTOO and eventually Board Chair. With the integration into ZERO, he now serves on the ZERO Board.

Jim also leads an NCCN Northwestern Hospital prostate cancer support group, serves on the SPORE and co-moderates AnCan’s virtual Active Surveillance and Low/Intermediate Prostate Cancer Groups.

After practicing real estate and commercial finance law for over 40 years, Counselor Schraidt got it right and retired in 2020.
