Ritchie Johnson is a Mother, Registered Nurse, Author, Speaker and Advocate. In 2011, she placed her nursing career on hold so that she could care for her adult son, Chris who was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of kidney cancer known as renal medullary carcinoma (RMC). Chris passed away 15 months later at the age of 39. After losing her son, Ritchie chose to turn her pain into purpose by becoming an advocate for RMC. In 2013, she formed the Chris “CJ” Johnson Foundation in memory of her son. She is a published author of “Mama I’m Tired” A Mother’s Journey Through Her Son’s Cancer Battle with Renal Medullary Carcinoma.
