Sally Torgeson
Diagnosed “by accident” with Multiple Myeloma in June 2018, I had none of the ‘usual’ symptoms. I complained of shin splints and a pop sound around my collarbone. After insisting on a CT scan, my Ortho finally acknowledged, “Your collar bones look like a mouse ate them”. Previously an active and avid traveler, I couldn’t walk without assistance within two months. Today I have no evidence of disease.
With a degree in biology and chemistry, I spent many years in corporate America retiring in 2004. I am now a Myeloma Coach and advocate with Myeloma Crowd. My passion is helping those with MM, especially newly diagnosed, navigate the murky and confusing early months then teaching them to advocate for themselves.
Walking has made a difference – I am up to 3000 steps/day!
