Pat Washburn
Pat Washburn is a Patient Advocate and Global Ambassador for Male Breast Cancer. Not long after she retired, her husband Marlyn, a Public Schools Educator and Administrator, was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer, He lived another 5 months, dying in May 2017. Pat truly has the T-shirt.
In an effort to raise awareness that men get breast cancer too Pat turned Marlyn’s daily driver, a 2014 Dodge Dart, into a mobile billboard advertising that “Breast Cancer Does NOT Discriminate…MEN TOO”. With Marlyn’s picture on the hood, Pat has now logged over 100,000 miles across the USA in the Marlyn Mobile supporting men and families living with this Male Breast Cancer. Her efforts extend across the ocean to Belgium and Spain too… but not with the car – at least just yet!
Pat is a Board Member with The Care Project, Inc providing love and support to many while letting the world know that Men Get Breast Cancer Too.
