Ultra sensitive PSA testing

Very interesting commentary by Len today as noted in the weekly email from Rick. Although I agree with Len’s comments, and know of at one individual who would be anxious with ultra sensitive testing, I think there is some value is using the Ultra test as an early warning indicator of possible PSA increases to come, as long as the patient is not burdened with PSA anxiety. That early warning allows for some extra time to select a suitable radiation oncologist for example, since treatment often starts before PSA is around 0.2 In regular PSA testing, the gentleman I mentioned above had biochemical recurrence first noted at PSA 0.1 using the regular test and was in a panic to line up his radiation oncologist and treatment quickly.
