Bill Franklin

Bill Franklin is a USAF veteran who retired from active duty in 2002 after 21 years active service; at age 39, he found himself unemployed. After working for several defense contractors, in 2007 Bill landed a job with a not-for-profit corporation that runs Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs) for the US Government.  Bill has a Bachelor’s degree in Information/Networking Technology and a Master’s in Information/Network Systems Technology Management.

Bill was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2015 aged 51.  Two months after a prostatectomy, he experienced a rapid rise in PSA and was treated with adjuvant radiation and 22 months of androgen deprivation therapy (Lupron). That’s when he found AnCan’s virtual support groups! Bill continues to monitor his PSA regularly.  To improve his physical fitness level, Bill enrolled in Karate classes with his young son and daughter; he has a heckuva of a time keeping up with them both!
