Support Group for Cardiac Conditions
This Group is open to all facing cardiovascular complications to their everyday life
In March of 2026, the AnCan Foundation launched the ProsCard mailing list—a peer-to-peer support and education group for men with prostate cancer who also face heart (cardiovascular) issues. The mail share is coordinated by John Antonucci, with David Sharp. It is at proscard@ancan.org.
After several informal monthly meetings, it became apparent that there was a greater need across the AnCan community for support for cardiac comorbidity, regardless of the conditions. On June 6, 2026, we launched a regular schedule for the group and now meet in the AnCan’s Schmier room the first Wednesday of each month at 6pm Eastern time slot.
This group offers peer-to-peer support and education for people with any condition who also face heart (cardiovascular) issues. The groups goals are to help those with cardiac comorbidities understand its impact on overall health. The group will work to accomplish several goals to support our members:
The group’s goals:
- Foster ongoing discussion of heart issues among cancer survivors.
- Share personal experiences and information we have learned.
- Provide education on cardiac health, especially as it relates to cancer.
- Explore support resources like video meetings, newsletters, and expert presentations.
- Expand the group to all cancers, and on an individual basis, folks with CV issues and no cancer.
- Encourage heart-healthy behaviors and active communication with the best cardio-oncologists and cardiologists we can find.
