Bill Harris

Bill is a husband, father, dog shelter/rescue volunteer, EMMY Award winning editor in network broadcasting, and a two-time cancer survivor. He is active in supporting cancer patients, survivors and revivors through advocacy, education, mentoring, and ambushing people to discuss the importance of being aware of our body.

In 2012, a small discharge from his right nipple led to a breast cancer diagnosis and separate bilateral mastectomies with hormone therapy. Genetic testing revealed Bill was BRCA2+ (Positive) making him more susceptible to multiple cancers including prostate, colon, melanoma and pancreas (in women, breast and ovarian cancer too).

Subsequently Bill maintained regular  surveillance. After nine years, a second cancer arose in his pancreas at a very early stage. Responding quickly, it was surgically removed followed by chemotherapy, and today, four years later, he is once again cancer free with No Evidence of Disease anywhere.
