Gary Ireland
Gary Ireland moderates AnCan’s peer-led Inherited Mutations and early Active Surveillance Prostate Cancer Support Groups.
Gary has extensive personal experience living with Inherited Mutations – as a husband, father and family remember. He lost his wife to ovarian cancer in 2019, as well as his sister- and mother-in-law to BRCA2-related cancers. His daughter Sydney carries BRCA2. Sydney and Gary assure a family-centered approach to supporting those at risk for genetic cancers.
Gary has been a peer moderator for several years in its early active surveillance prostate cancer group. He is committed to fostering an empathetic, informed, and inclusive environment where those facing cancer can find strength and guidance together.
Gary & Eagle Scout Sydney are currently developing a feature film chronicling the Ireland’s successful campaign to open Scouting America to girls. An employment and business attorney, he is recognized by NOW and NAACP amongst others. Gary is a graduate of Columbia University and New York Law School.
