Welcome to AnCan’s regularly scheduled guided art class! These free sessions are open to everyone and thoughtfully designed with our chronic illness and cancer community in mind.
Each class features a pre-planned, step-by-step art lesson led by one of AnCan’s instructors. No prior art experience is required. Participants are encouraged to work at their own pace, and modifications are always offered to support energy levels, physical limitations, cognitive fatigue, and access to art supplies.
In addition to learning creative techniques, these sessions are intended to support mindfulness and emotional well-being. Art can be a grounding practice—offering a moment to slow down, focus on the present, and reconnect with yourself through gentle creative expression.
Our goal is to create a welcoming, low-pressure space where creativity can feel restorative, calming, and accessible. We do our best to make every session as accommodating and inclusive as possible, so you can focus on creating in a way that feels right for you.
Sessions take place every 3rd Thursday at 8pm Eastern time
Register for each individual monthly class

Art Class Thursday January 15th, 8pm ET
“Restful Ripples”, is part of our regular virtual art class, open to anyone and everyone in our community & beyond.
This month we’ll be using watercolor to create a pattern of ripples on the page. Get into the rhythm, one color at a time. Repetition is how you build those neural pathways, so you can also think of this project as a way to get your mind and body moving together in a slow, gentle way.
We will use watercolors, and you can use any size paper – though I do recommend medium to large for this one! We’ll take our time painting rings of color and mixing colors.
Register for the link to join the Zoom meeting. This meeting will be recorded.

Art Class December 2025
Art Class December 18th 2025, 8pm ET
“Autumn Hues”, is part of our regular virtual art class, open to anyone and everyone in our community & beyond.
If you’re in my Monday night MS Focus art class, this painting might look familiar. I’ve modified it with modeling paste! So, now we’ll be getting some more use out of our modeling paste supplies! We’ll be adding all kinds of mixed autumn colors with a brush or a palette knife, and using a (optional) sponge for the background! There are all kinds of ways to make a painting, and I’m gonna show you how.
