Art Class Thursday January 15th, 8pm ET
“Restful Ripples”, is part of our regular virtual art class, open to anyone and everyone in our community & beyond.
This month we’ll be using watercolor to create a pattern of ripples on the page. Get into the rhythm, one color at a time. Repetition is how you build those neural pathways, so you can also think of this project as a way to get your mind and body moving together in a slow, gentle way.
We will use watercolors, and you can use any size paper – though I do recommend medium to large for this one! We’ll take our time painting rings of color and mixing colors.
Register for the link to join the Zoom meeting. This meeting will be recorded.

Art Class December 2025
Art Class December 18th 2025, 8pm ET
“Autumn Hues”, is part of our regular virtual art class, open to anyone and everyone in our community & beyond.
If you’re in my Monday night MS Focus art class, this painting might look familiar. I’ve modified it with modeling paste! So, now we’ll be getting some more use out of our modeling paste supplies! We’ll be adding all kinds of mixed autumn colors with a brush or a palette knife, and using a (optional) sponge for the background! There are all kinds of ways to make a painting, and I’m gonna show you how.

Veteran Appreciation Art Class December 2025
Registration here
This free virtual art class is offered to Veterans of all branches of the US armed forces, their family & friends. We absolutely can’t thank our Veterans enough for everything they’ve done. AnCan recognizes the important role that relaxation and engagement with a positive pastime can have on a persons mental health. That’s why we do what we do!
We will be using the same materials as last Veteran’s Art Class: acrylic paints & brushes, and modeling paste & palette knives. We will be happy to send supplies to first – time participants and those that may have run out of a supply.
Please follow the prompts on this form; you’ll have a chance to choose the particular supplies you need. You’ll receive a package from either Amazon or Walmart + or both.
You will receive a link to join the class a few days prior to the event.
Thursday Dec 11th at 8pm ET
LAST DAY TO SIGN UP: Tuesday Dec 4th
We want to account for the surge in holiday shipments at this time
Thank you so much to Blue Earth and Johnson & Johnson for sponsoring this project. This painting is hosted by AnCan, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization specializing in peer-to-peer virtual support groups for various disease groups and communities.

We have a very exciting announcement about our first of two upcoming art classes:
Veterans Appreciation Art Class, sponsored by Myriad Genetics and Myovant!
This will be a free art class offered to Veterans of all branches of the US armed forces, their family, and their friends.
When? Wednesday June 28th at 8pm ET / 5pm PT
And when we say free, we mean that in addition to the lesson being free, the supplies will also be free, too!! We are SO happy that we are able to offer this class – especially because it will benefit a community of individuals that is much more in need of mental health benefits than they might realize.
Last day to register is June 19th. We want to make sure everyone receives their supplies on time!
Your instructor,
Hannah Garrison, currently works with the VA hospital system in San Antonio, TX, as a creative arts instructor for their psychiatric units. She has been there to witness the incredible mental health benefits of a creative arts practice in the individuals she works with. We’re here to provide space for a community of like-minded individuals. Starting a new hobby can be intimidating, so that’s why we are so happy to be able to provide your supplies completely free.
PLEASE send this class registration to any and all Veterans you know, that may be interested.
We’ll be using watercolors and watercolor pencils! You’ll be receiving everything needed to complete this project in our class time – minus any napkins and water, of course.
Are you a Veteran in need of some virtual support? Whether you have chronic illness, cancer, mental health concerns, etc; we welcome you with open arms. We’re a virtual support group filled with other peers who have a lot of advice and support to offer.
Next meeting is June 22nd at 8pm ET / 5pm PT. Drop in
HERE. No need to register.
Looking to make some art a little sooner? We have our next general art class on June 8th at 8pm ET! It’s free, and it’s BYOAS (Bring Your Own Art Supplies). We’re making an acrylic painting on canvas!
Please email Hannah@rickd13.sg-host.com or Alexa@rickd13.sg-host.com with any questions! Happy painting!
