Dr. Dan George

AnCan is privileged to have worked with Dr. Daniel George for 10 years or more. Dr. Dan was the genitourinary medical oncologists for one of our spiritual founders, Dominic Marrese, although sadly Dom died before we were officially founded. Dr. Dan George is the Eleanor Easley Distinguished Chair in the Duke School of Medicine and a tenured Professor. He earned his M.D. degree from Duke Med School, completing his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Medical Oncology at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He then joined Dana-Farber returning to Duke in 2003. Dr George is an internationally recognized clinical researcher and thought leader in prostate cancer and renal cell carcinoma with over 300 peer-reviewed publications in genitourinary oncology. His areas of research include new drug development, cancer disparities and real-world evidence. At Duke, Dr George is Director of GU Oncology and Co-Leader of the Duke Cancer Institute Center for Prostate and Urologic Cancers. Dr. George emphasizes, “I’m at Duke and I see patients”; at AnCan, we can attest to that!  Dr. Dan is an amazing, patient-centric clinician and his patients love him. He really cares! And even though the picture is not evidence, Dr. Dan’s been known to wear very colorful dress shirts!
