Calling all members of the thyroid cancer community!

We want to give you a big welcome to our Thyroid Cancer Virtual Support Group. We are all thyroid cancer patients/survivors in different places with treatment or survivorship, and our bios can be found below. Since this is peer-led, we genuinely understand the issues you might be struggling with, and want to offer support in any way we can.

While we cannot provide medical advice, we CAN speak about our own experiences with treatments, and other aspects of living with thyroid cancer. All types of thyroid cancer are welcome, including (and never limited to) Papillary, Follicular, Medullary,
and Anaplastic.

We can’t wait to meet you, or see you again!

To receive a reminder notice before each meeting, please sign up here.

The virtual group meets at 8-9:30 pm Eastern on the 3rd Wednesday of each month (in AnCan’s Virtual Schmier Room). You can join online or by phone at +1 646 749 3129 with access code 656-182-845.

See the Joining Instructions Panel above right for more information and other Country Access codes. Our groups are always free and drop-in – no registration required!

Nuclear payloads, guided missiles, directed assassinations…not in global conflict or wars, but prostate cancer and what happens inside bodies of men getting radionuclide theranostics (treatment) and diagnostics (scanning) today.

Radionuclide treatment for prostate cancer is at least 10 years old – does that surprise you? Bayer’s Xofigo was approved in 2013 but adoption has been slow until recent FDA approvals of theranostics (treatment) viz. Pluvicto, and diagnostics (scans) like Illucix and Posluma.

Radionuclides are theory-intense with nuclear medicine doctors less exposed to  treatment of advanced prostate cancer. Conversely, GU medical oncologists are less familiar with radionuclides than hormone and chemo-therapy.

Two global experts, GU medical oncologist Dr. Oliver Sartor and nuclear medicine guru, Dr. Philip Kuo will introduce radionuclide theranostics and diagnostics and discuss how the clinic and the theory intersect.
