We’re excited to announce our new Active Surveillance virtual group. It will be held on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 8pm EST/EDT.
Active Surveillance (AS) for low-risk prostate cancer presents its own challenges that are very different from other treatment protocols. This virtual group is for men and caregivers on or considering AS to treat their condition. New participants are given priority to discuss their situation.
Two of our high risk/recurrent/advanced prostate cancer virtual group participants, Carl F. and Alan M. recently discovered they both live in Monroe Township, NJ. So off they went to attend “Hot Topics In Prostate Cancer Presentation” at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey on April 11 …. as you see!
Early intervention along the treatment path; genetic testing; Neulasta side effects; blood clot issues; bone strengtheners; can radiation be repeated?; debulking primary with radiation; any prep for radiation; success with Bipolar Androgen Therapy; lung nodules in PCa

Peer advice and patient advocacy are often the most valuable sources of information for many facing serious and chronic illness. While most readily admit that, they are reluctant to pay for the advice …. there is a strong sense of entitlement that those who have trodden the path before them have an obligation to share their experiences gratis.
For those who work 24/7 as patients advocates, figuring out how to get remunerated is a major challenge. This recorded session from the 2019 Janssen HealtheVoices Conference in Dallas considers strategies to achieve this goal. Led by AnCan’s Rick Davis and Julie Croner at WEGO Health, it also features AnCan Adviusory Board Member and website designer, JackieZimmerman.
