Hi-Risk/Recurrent/Advanced PCa Video Chat, Jan 14, 2025

It’s AnCan’s Annual Fundraiser – just once a year is the only time we ask for donations. FYI, we’ve received a mere 70 donations from this group, even though we have almost 300 regular participants, and 700 who receive the Reminder. Time to step up and show appreciation and gratitude if you watch these videos and find them helpful. Donate now at https://ancan.org/donate/

AnCan is grateful to the following sponsors for making this recording possible: Bayer, Foundation Medicine, Janssen, Myriad Genetics, Novartis, Telix & Blue Earth Diagnostic.

If you missed any recent recordings, you’ll find a full list either on our YouTube Playlist or visit our Blog Post https://ancan.org/our-recent-blog-posts-in-case-you-missed-them/   Sign up for our Blog by checking the New Blog box at https://ancan.org/contact-us/

Editor’s Pick: Without T, it’s not much of a drug holiday — dare he get shots? (bn)

Topics Discussed

From Rick: 33,000 views on AnCan YouTube channel – why you should consider an AnCan donation, if you haven’t – we’re digging into AnCan survey responses – a  cancer story that’s “a little eerie and pretty amazing”; 2-year drug holiday and still no testosterone — are testosterone shots a crazy idea? (lots of discussion on this); link between ADT and arithritis?; statin skeptic changes sides;  getting agonizing bone pain on a white blood cell stimulator —  Claritin might prevent it — better yet, see a palliative care doc; three Pluvicto treatments have driven his 200 PSA down to 1.7 — does he need more?; he’s got questons: why the bicalutamide – why no mutations in my somatic test? –  are drug holidays a whipsaw? – and what’s your average lifetime if you have prostate cancer?;  nine years into his illness, he offers a message of hope; can a biopsy show PSMA avidity?; after finishing Prolia, backing it up with bisphosphonates; reduction surgery for his ADT breasts — he loves the results; a runaround when he wants to watch his anemia, but the law’s on his side.
