Dutasteride is generally more potent and effective than finasteride for treating hair loss and BPH. However, it may also have a slightly higher risk of side effects. The choice between the two medications should be made in consultation with a healthcare professional based on individual factors such as the severity of hair loss or BPH symptoms, potential side effects, and halflife of Dutasteride is 40 days, Finasteride is around 12-18 hours if I remember correctly
